Check of a condition and replacement of brake hoses and lines

Condition check

Everyone half a year, поддомкратив the car and having established it on props, check the rubber brake hoses connecting steel lines with assemblages of forward and back brake mechanisms on presence of cracks, протертостей external covers, signs of leaks, swellings and other damages. Hoses are the important and vulnerable components of brake system and should look round on all length. Carrying out of such check will be helped by small lamp and pocket mirror use. In case of revealing of any of listed above defects the hose is subject to immediate replacement.

Forward brake hoses

    Disconnect a brake line of the union of a hose, try not to bend thus an arm or a line. If there is such possibility, use for отдавания накидных nuts штуцерных connections by a special key.
    For removal of a forward brake hose give from its union a brake line - take advantage of a special key for отдавания накидных nuts of fastening of metal lines; then отболтите a hose from a frame, having taken advantage for this purpose of a head of type TORX or a screw-driver.
    By means of a head of type TORX or a screw-driver отболтите a hose from a frame. Give a hollow bolt штуцерного knot of fastening of a hose to a support of the brake mechanism (see an illustration) and disconnect a hose from a support. Throw out sealing washers. At installation first of all connect a hose to a support, replace sealing washers from both parties of the union. Tighten an entrance bolt штуцерного connections with demanded effort. Without overwinding a hose, connect to its union a brake line, however do not tighten while a nut штуцерного connection. Establish a bolt of fastening of a hose to a frame and reliably tighten it. Strongly tighten штуцерное connection of a hose with a line. After end of installation of a brake hose it should not appear overwound. Make sure that the hose anywhere does not touch to any moving components of a suspension bracket - for this purpose ask the assistant to turn some times a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop. In case of need make updating of installation of a hose. Pump over brake system (Section Prorolling of brake system).

Back brake hoses

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    By means of two keys disconnect a hose from an arm on a frame - watch to deforming an arm or steel lines. By means of flat-nose pliers remove an U-shaped clip and disconnect a reception half штуцерного a socket from an arm.
    For a detachment of a brake hose from a metal line distribute two equipped with a carving штуцерных connections (in avoidance проворачивания one of them at untwisting of another take advantage of the second wrench), then by means of flat-nose pliers or бокорезов (diagonal кусачек) remove an U-shaped clip.
    Disconnect two hydraulic lines from the connecting block, then отболтите and remove a hose. Приболтите the connecting block to картеру the bridge, then connect lines, strongly having tightened them штуцерные connections. Without overwinding a hose, fix its reception half штуцерного connections in a frame arm. Establish an U-shaped clip of fixing of the reception end of a hose in an arm. With the help of pair wrenches connect steel lines to reception half штуцерных connections. Again watch to bending an arm or a steel line. Make sure that in the course of hose installation there was no easing of fastening of an arm of a frame. In case of need tighten fixture. Fill in in the tank of the main brake cylinder a liquid and pump over system (Section Prorolling of brake system).

Metal brake lines

At replacement of brake lines special attention give designs and manufacturing techniques of replaceable components. At all do not establish in contours of brake system copper tubes. Only steel tubes got in dealer branch or firm shop of autospare parts suit.

It is preferable to get brake lines with already развальцованными end faces and equipped штуцерными connections. To such lines if they are bought under concrete model of the car in dealer branch or are ordered in firm shop, the corresponding form is usually already given.

At installation of a new line take care of reliability of its fastening in arms and about that between it and moving or strongly warmed up components of a suspension bracket and system of release of the fulfilled gases there was a sufficient backlash.

On termination of installation check up liquid level in the tank of the main brake cylinder, in case of need make having added. Pump over brake system (Section Prorolling of brake system) and, before starting car operation, carefully check up serviceability of functioning of brakes.
